Briscoes has said it had received reports that fraudulent emails advertising free ‘‘high value Briscoes gift vouchers’’ were being sent to its customers. Briscoes said the emails were not sent by, or endorsed, by it. Some of the emails were offering up to $300 in gift vouchers, while other emails asked customers to enter a competition to win a $250 voucher. The body of the email reads: ‘‘Briscoes is celebrating their success and are going to give away free giftcards! You have been selected to enter our contest and win a free Briscoes giftcard! In order to participate, you will have to answer five questions. It will only take two minutes of your time’’.

If you receive the email, don’t click on any links in it and report it via the Scamwatch section of the Consumer Protection website.
